Where we don’t use AI

• Scores and bands come from our published formula, applied the same way to every site.
• Finding problems is done by our scanner’s fixed rules: its automated checks, its phone-width check and its keyboard test.
• The PDF check’s verdicts come from reading each file’s structure with fixed rules.
• The index, its comparisons and its maps are built from those results alone.

Nothing on a report is written by AI during a scan.

The words on every report

Each kind of problem has one plain-language description, written once and reused on every report, so the same problem reads the same way for every site. Each was checked against the official explanation of its check and approved before use.

PDF repair

Our tools repair PDFs far faster than doing every page by hand, with a custom AI repair agent we built for the work. Where a page needs a person’s judgment, a person does that part, which is why every order comes with a delivery date rather than an instant download. How a repair goes:

1. Our tools read each page’s layout and add text to scanned pages.
2. Our AI repair agent works through every page against the original: describing pictures, correcting scanned text, labeling every form field, and putting tables and the reading order right.
3. Automatic checks must pass before anything is delivered: the PDF standard’s own checks, every form field labeled, every picture described, and the order the Tab key follows. Every PDF we deliver passes our free PDF check as Readable.
4. Anything our agent is unsure of goes to a person, a person checks every fillable form, and a person listens to a sample of every batch with a screen reader.

You pay only for pages that pass, and if you’re not satisfied with anything we did, tell us within 14 days and we fix it free.

What goes to the AI service

• Nothing from a website check, and never your contact or payment details.
• For PDF repair, the pages of the documents you send us, as images and text, go to the AI service our agent runs on, to be worked on. If we use an automatic tagging service as a backup, they go there too. Our Privacy policy names both.
• The AI service may not train its models on what we send: its commercial terms forbid it, and our account shares no feedback with it. It keeps what we send for 30 days by default, when it may be checked for safety and security.
• When a repair teaches us something, we record it as a general lesson, never your content.
• Send us only documents you have the right to share, and no personal, health or other confidential information. We delete your files 30 days after delivery.

Changes

If we start using AI anywhere new, we say so here first, with the date.
